If you're a Normal (Academic) student looking at entering a polytechnic after completing the GCE ‘N’-level examination, then the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) might be the route for you.

Please note that eligibility to apply for the PFP does not guarantee admission. Admission is subject to competition based on merit and the availability of vacancies, and in open competition with other eligible applicants based on merit.

From 2026, students eligible for the Polytechnic Foundation Programme (PFP) will be admitted into course clusters*.

To be eligible for the PFP, students must obtain a raw ELMAB3 aggregate score of 12 points or lower (excluding CCA bonus points), and attain minimum

(i) N(A)-Level Grade 3 for English Language and Mathematics/Additional Mathematics;

(ii) N(A)-Level Grade 3 for one relevant subject; and

(iii) N(A)-Level Grade 4 for any two other subjects (excluding CCA) that make up the ELMAB3 aggregate.
